Multifuctional Motorcycle

We Americans tend to view motorcycles primarily as a type of "big toy," a hobby for those who feel cramped by doors and windshields, who enjoy the feel of wind rushing past their head. But for those in Cambodia, as well as much of the rest of the world, motorcycles are much more multi-functional. Where few trucks abound, the motorcycle can be used to haul just about anything, or anyone. Thanks to the photography of my friend Mike, here are a few examples. Hauling full-sized hogs, still alive, sometimes as many as 2 at a time.

Hauling fresh grass hay, later to be fed to cattle.

Hauling sacks of something, as well as a second passenger who holds on for dear life.

Hauling your child, as he or she sleeps.

Hauling a couple extra passengers, as well as some dining room furniture.
